
The Imperial County Consortium Teacher Induction Program is accredited by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing and was developed to support the professional growth of preliminary-credentialed, beginning teachers to fulfill the necessary requirements for the California Clear Multiple Subject, Single Subject, and Education Specialist credentials. Induction is designed to provide on site, job embedded mentoring to support growth towards mastery of the California Standards for the Teaching Profession (CSTPs).
To be eligible to enroll in the Imperial County Consortium Teacher Induction Program, teachers must meet the following criteria:
- Hold a valid (not expired) Preliminary Multiple Subject, Single Subject and/or Education Specialist teaching credential issued by California
- Be employed by an Imperial County Consortium Teacher Induction program participating district/site in an assignment the preliminary credential authorizes
TRADITIONAL YEAR 2 OPTION
Recommended for most beginning teachers to work on classroom management skills, lesson delivery, inquiry, and formative assessment.
The pace is convenient and doable for first and second year teachers.
EARLY COMPLETION 1 YEAR OPTION
(REQUIRES APPLICATION)
Recommended for experienced, exemplary teachers possessing:
- A minimum of 2 years of teaching experience as a teacher of record
- Substantial professional development experience
- Excellent site level professional evaluations and site administrator approval
Program completion is in May/June of Year 1
Failure to meet program deadlines and requirements may result in reclassification into the two year option
- One to one mentoring throughout the school year (1 hr/week)
- Highest priority given to Support Provider mentoring match by subject matter, grade level and on-site availability
- Mentoring based on candidate goals and individual learning plan (ILP)
- Teachers are assigned advisors who provide feedback to their ILP throughout the course of the year.
