Imperial County - As the weather turns warm and days get longer, local graduations are just around the corner. All of the local high schools have announced their graduation dates along with Imperial Valley College and San Diego State's Imperial Valley extension campus. Details about each graduation can be found by contacting each school or school district directly.
- Local winners of the Migrant Education Region VI Speech and Debate Competition that happened earlier this year traveled to Tulare County recently to compete in the Statewide event! Here are the results for our local attendees. Congratulations to all of the competitors!
- El Centro - The annual Celebration of Education was amazing!
- Calexico - Tuesday evening (April 24, 2018) several hundred students from Imperial County's Migrant Education Program, and their families, attended a fun field trip to SDSU's extension campus in Imperial Valley. After a fun dinner on the university quad the students and families assembled in SDSU's Rodney Auditorium to hear Dr. Gregorio Ponce, Dean of SDSU's Imperial Valley campus, read a story about a mouse going off to college (specifically SDSU in Calexico). The students were then taken on tours of the campus.

- Celebration of Education - a FREE event for the COMMUNITY! May 3rd, 2018, SHS Jimmie Cannon Theater, 7:00PM This annual event showcases the outstanding accomplishments from throughout Imperial County this past school year! www.icoe.org/celebration
- ICOE will host its 5th Annual Imperial County Education Career Fair on Saturday, April 21, 2018 from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm at Southwest High School (Multi-Purpose Room). This event will be a great opportunity for those seeking careers in education to connect with school districts and higher education institutions. Local schools and school districts will conduct on-site interviews for both teaching and non-teaching positions. In previous years, many job seekers left the career fair with conditional job offers!
- Don't miss the 39th Annual Children's Fair on Saturday, April 21, 2018 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm at the Bucklin Park in El Centro, CA. This event is brought to you by the Child Abuse Prevention Council. The event is sponsored by Imperial County Child Abuse Prevention Council, Imperial County Office of Education, El Centro Park & Recreations, with assistance from TKO Entertainment and Los Vigilantes.
