  • Imperial County – The newly released Imperial County Office of Education Annual Yearbook (a.k.a. our Annual Report) will highlight areas of success in education as well as identify areas where we, as a community, must continue to improve.  

  • Just like they had done all year, an hour a day, up to twice a week, George Mendez and Yazbeth Velasquez folded, matched and sorted high-fashion clothes at the Banana Republic store at Calexico’s Gran Plaza mall. Today would be different, though, when assistant manager Stephanie Villanueva presented the young men with a cake on their last day of “work.”

  • The El Centro Kiwanis club donated $1,080 to the Imperial Valley Center for Exceptional Children to purchase equipment for the “Sensory Room” being developed at the school.  The sensory room is an indoor play space for students with Autism.   • The newly formed Imperial Valley CUE, along with ICOE and IVC, hosted Tech de Mayo at IVC on Saturday, May 6, 2017. Local experts shared their knowledge and best practices in a series of breakout sessions. Dave Burgess, the New York Times Best-Selling author of Teach Like a PIRATE delivered a powerful breakout session on teaching outside the box and an inspirational closing keynote.

  • The newly formed Imperial Valley CUE, along with ICOE and IVC, will host Tech de Mayo, a Festival of Teaching and Technology, at IVC’s 2700 Building on Saturday, May 6, 2017, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Dave Burgess, the New York Times Best-Selling author of Teach Like a PIRATE and co-author of P is for PIRATE, will deliver a high-energy breakout session and a powerful closing session.
