  • Imperial – First grade teacher from the Imperial Unified School District, Randi Ryan, has been selected as the Imperial County Teacher of the Year, for this coming school year.   

  • The Imperial County Office of Education Migrant Education Program serves migrant students and their families by providing supplementary programs such as school readiness, after-school tutoring, GED tutoring, summer camps, and university-based summer institutes. The Migrant Program also offers a variety of parent training, an Annual Speech and Debate Tournament, and a Regional Parent Conference. All the Migrant Program services are strategically designed to nurture migrant students’ curiosity and empower migrant parents as they support their children’s educational success.

  • The Spring semester graduation dates have been released by local Imperial County high schools as well as Imperial Valley College and San Diego State University.  For more information and details about each graduation, contact each of the schools individually.

  • Some day in the not-too-distant future, every student in Imperial County will, with the flip of a switch, be able to connect to the Internet, leveling the academic playing field and sealing shut the homework gap. BorderLink is the Imperial County Office of Education's (ICOE) newest initiative to bring wireless Internet connectivity to K-12 students in several local communities as well as to students at Imperial Valley College.

  • This weekend, 30 MEP students from Imperial County participated in the Statewide Speech and Debate Tournament in Ventura, CA. Congratulations to the Spanish Debate Team from Calexico Unified who won First place in the Middle School Spanish Debate Category.
