  • May is Mental Health Matters Month Every day, millions of people face stigma related to mental health because they or a loved one are facing a challenge. This can lead to feeling isolated and alone, sometimes lasting years before receiving any help. We believe that Imperial County Schools value the work of advancing mental health and social emotional learning in schools, putting an end to the stigma around mental health, and creating a community where everyone feels safe and comfortable reaching out for the support they deserve.

  • ICOE’s Foundation for Education scholarship application deadline is just a few days away! The deadline to submit a scholarship application is 5:00 pm on Friday, May 7, 2021. The Foundation for Education will provide ten $500 scholarships to seniors enrolled in:

  • Jaedillene Laurino is our 2021 Imperial County Spelling Bee Champion! With the winning word of “effervescent,” 7th grade student from the Imperial Valley Homeschool Academy, Jaedillene Laurino became our County Champion on March 16 at the Regional Spelling Bee Competition that was hosted via Zoom. Jaedillene will have the opportunity to represent Imperial County in the 2021 Scripps National Spelling Bee this July.

  • Find Your Path The College and Career Readiness Initiative launched the much anticipated website, FindYourPath.org on March 1st, 2021. Designed for students, families and the general public, the site provides a growing number of resources to help students find their path in college, career and life!

  • The Story of Louis Braille: Inventor of the Braille Code Louis Braille was a French Educator who invented a tactile system of reading and writing for the blind and visually impaired in 1824. The system is called braille and it consists of raised dot codes that are used worldwide to read and write until this day.
