    Wednesday, January 18, 2017 El Centro – The Imperial County Office of Education (ICOE) announces the hiring of Alex Wells as Associate Superintendent of Operations, where he will oversee the Business, Technology, Facilities, and Human Resources functions of the organization.  An Imperial County native, Wells comes to ICOE from the El Centro Regional Medical Center (ECRMC) where he spent the last ten years as the Chief Financial Officer and Controller.

    The Bullying & School Violence Advocacy (XB) Program will focus on direct services to victims. Often, the focus is on Bullying Prevention, not in assisting the victim. Victims of bullying are usually left to deal with the emotional and psychological damage from these incidents by themselves.

    Brawley Cattle Call Arena hosted the 28th Annual Mini Rodeo for Special Needs Children and Adults on November 9th, 2016. With Cattle Call week hosting a myriad of activities each day, the Mini Rodeo has become one of the largest involving every portion of the county.

    Migrant Education's Regional Advisory Council selected the Regional 2017 migrant parent of the year, the Alumnus of the year, honor student, and the logo of the year on October 12th. Migrant students submitted their logo drawings and parents selected a parent, an alumnus and an honor student to represent them at the 16th Annual Parent Conference held on Saturday, November 5th, 2016. The winners will also be representing the Migrant Education Program at the 38th Statewide Annual Parent Conference on March 10-12, 2017 in Los Angeles, CA.
