6th Annual Foundation for Education Golf Fundraiser: In Full Swing for Education!
Community leaders and golf enthusiasts gathered at the Rio Bend Golf Course on Saturday, February 21, 2026, for the Foundation for Education’s 6th Annual Golf Fundraiser. The scramble-style tournament brought together 18 teams to raise funds for the Foundation’s scholarship program.
The day featured spirited competition and a raffle stocked with prizes donated by local businesses, including gift baskets and gift certificates. “We are truly grateful for the continued support of our generous partners, sponsors, and players,” said Dr. Todd Finnell, County Superintendent of Schools and Foundation for Education President. “This fundraiser is one of two annual events that directly benefit our most vulnerable students, providing them with the resources they need to pursue their educational dreams.”
The Foundation for Education is currently seeking applicants for its 2026 scholarship cycle. Opportunities are available for high school seniors enrolled in alternative education/continuation schools, Imperial Pathways Charter School, or students with disabilities who attend a career technical school, community college, or university in the Fall. New for 2026, the Foundation is also offering four $500 scholarships to high school seniors pursuing careers in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction. All applications must be submitted by April 17, 2026. Awards will be announced in May. For eligibility details and to apply, visit: https://foundation.icoe.org/scholarship
The Foundation’s next major event, the Annual Autumn & the Arts Fundraiser, is scheduled for Thursday, October 1, 2026. This evening celebration showcases student talent while continuing the mission to support education across Imperial County.
