SELPA AB 602 SELPA Local Governance Plan for the 2021-2022 school year
The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act 20 United States Code (20 USC) Section 1400 et seq. and related federal regulations, require each special education local plan area (SELPA) to ensure a continuum of program options are available to meet the needs of students with disabilities for special education and related services.
The California Department of Education (CDE) has established guidelines for the coordinated development and submission Local Plan components—Section A: Contacts and Certifications, Section B: Governance and Administration, Section D: Annual Budget Plan, Section E: Annual Service Plan, and required Attachments I–VII. Regional SELPAs ensure access to special education and services for all students with disabilities residing within the geographic areas served by each plan.
30-Day SELPA Local Plan Review
The Imperial County SELPA is pleased to share the draft of the revised Local Plan for the 2021-2022 school year, which will be reviewed by the SELPA Executive Board on June 16th, during its regularly scheduled meeting at 730am. A public hearing will occur promptly at 730am, prior to the start of the Board meeting, to gather any public input related to the SELPA Local Plan, Annual Budget Plan and Annual Services Plan. The purpose of the SELPA Local Plan is to:
- Outline the special education policies/procedures and services that are offered throughout the SELPA.
- To assure access to special education and related services for all individuals with exceptional needs residing within the geographic area served by the plan
- To assure compliance with all Federal and State codes and statutes
EC 56205 (b)(7) also requires that Local Plan Section D: Annual Budget Plan, Section E: Annual Service Plan and Attachments are to be made available for a 15-day review period.
