Infant Toddler Staff
Laura Perez is the Lead Teacher of the Infant/Toddler Program. In the fall of 2001, children enrolled in the ICOE Infant/Toddler Program began learning in their "natural" environments. Natural environments are everyday relationships, routines, activities, places and partnerships in a child's life. This new relationship-focused approach supports families by helping them set their priorities for their children in inclusive settings. Laura says that the change "has allowed us to access resources in the communities of babies and their families, helping us to better serve them." Teachers work to develop skills in several areas: cognitive, self-help, social/emotional, gross and fine motor and language.
Toddler Teachers, Elsa Camacho and Yvonne Salgado, work with Laura at IVCEC. Community Instructional Assistants working with Laura are Maria Camacho, Patti German, Dora Nunez, Ilza Veliz, Teresita Padilla, Margarita Ortega and Carmen Uribe. The Clerical Assistant, also working with the Infant Toddler Program, is Cindy Perez.
