Overview
Migrant instructional services are delivered to eligible migrant students in various school districts in Imperial Valley through a variety of instructional programs and different settings: after school programs, Saturday schools, home tutorial programs, and summer school.
Currently identified migrant students are served based on the students’ demonstrated needs for academic instruction in language, math, reading, and classroom progress.
To reinforce the efforts of school districts in providing instructional services to students, Region VI provides special in-service training throughout the year. The unique instructional and curriculum needs demonstrated by migrant students are addressed through a variety of teaching strategies.
The migrant program in Imperial County is a strong supplemental educational support for the migrant students which are challenged by the California Academic Standards.
