I want to take this opportunity to encourage your children to take advantage of all of the support, co-curricular, and extra-curricular programs that BUHS has available to them.  We have an after school tutoring program that runs Monday through Thursday in the library from 3:15-5:15 pm.  We also have active AVID and MESA programs established at BUHS.  This year we welcome the addition of the GEAR UP program for all ninth graders that will focus on preparation for higher education for all participating students.  We field twelve athletic teams for both boys and girls and offer opportunities for students to participate in a large number of different clubs on campus.  We also have very active jazz band, marching band, drama, mock trial, art, and yearbook programs at BUHS.  Studies show that students who participate in extra and co-curricular programs have a higher rate of academic achievement than those that don’t, so please encourage your children to participate in all of the activities that BUHS has to offer them.
