Videoconferencing Brochure

Imagine equal access to cutting-edge programs for schools regardless of district size.
Imagine greater opportunities for staff development.
Imagine having expert guests speak to students and faculty from sites all over the world.

Videoconferencing is here to turn these imagined possibilities into realities.

A key component of Learning Technologies, videoconferencing is becoming an increasingly important tool in the education of staff and students. To better meet the needs of learners in Imperial County, Learning Technologies has deployed videoconferencing equipment in participating schools, and is developing curricular and technical training.

Videoconferencing is a tool for teachers and students to see, hear, and interact with learning resources in real time.

Videoconferencing technology allows two or more people at different locations to see and hear each other at the same time. In addition, it is often possible to share computer applications such as Internet pages, library catalogs, documents, or software.

As an interactive communication medium, videoconferencing stands out in a number of ways. The visual connection and interaction among participants enhances understanding and helps participants feel connected to each other.

This goes a long way toward building relationships in a way that e-mail, telephone, or online chat systems cannot.
