Whether you are a first-time worker or an experienced employee, this web site offers advice and resources about how to get to work - at a job that pleases you and meets your needs.

About the site
The Get to Work! web site is divided into five important sections:

  • All About You reminds you that to conduct a successful job search, you start by answering three questions: Who am I? Where am I going? How do I get there? This section encourages you to consider your interests, aptitudes, and values, and instructs you in how to identify your skills.
  • Conducting Your Job Search. How do you look for the perfect job? Naturally, you will use the want ads and Internet. But this section may surprise you with some of its suggestions. By the way, do you know how to use networking effectively?
  • Resume and Cover Letter is the section where you will learn all you ever wanted to know about resumes and cover letters. We also offer tips about how to write appealing resumes and enticing cover letters that get you what you want: your foot in the door (also known as an interview).
  • Your Portfolio is a sometimes overlooked, but really important step in getting that job that you want. This section is a treasure trove of guidance in how to create a simply irresistible portfolio.
  • The Interview Process discusses what to do before, during, and after the interview to give you the very best chance to bag the job. There are clues here that you will not want to overlook to empower you to make the very best impression at your job interview.
