About Borderlink

The BorderLink Project is a federally-funded Technology Innovation Challenge Grant focused on applying existing and emerging technologies to formerly insurmountable classroom learning and instructional obstacles in remote and geographically isolated high schools. A goal of BorderLink is to build on and expand successful models of technology-delivered student courses and professional development. It also working on leveling the playing field for students in remote underprivileged areas and small schools. Collaborative partnerships have been built that will leverage BorderLink, and the project has established the first concerted effort to link isolated schools in the two counties that form the entire California border between the United States and Mexico. High schools participating in this project include all eight Imperial Valley high schools and four San Diego high schools (Borrego Springs High School, Julian High School, Mountain Empire High School and Warner High School).
BorderLink Goals:
- Increase post-secondary opportunities for students.
- Design, implement, and disseminate effective professional development to support student-learning outcomes.
- Establish support structures that leverage funding, reduce the digitial divide, and create sustainable programs.
