Damon Smith doesn't recommend following his path to a successful school business career. Especially since he started with a serious foot injury. Had Damon not blown out his ankle in a pickup basketball game - blowing his opportunity to join a brokerage firm fresh out of San Diego State University - he may not have become assistant superintendent for business services with the Imperial County Office of Education.
